Uni Life

It's been such a long time since I last blogged but I'm back but on a slightly different note. No longer am I studying a practical art course but now History of Art at the University of Nottingham.
We're only into week two of teaching and I've learnt a lot. I feel my blog is now going to move into me posting about works of art that I come to like or academic references and quotes that I feel are inspirational, as I move through my studies rather than my own work, as I no longer make practical work as I used to.

Keep watching as I'll be back soon as a critical art historian

Equivalents

The coin assemblages are all equivalents in terms of their monetary value. They each equal a total of £1. Where each sculpture differs is in the type of coin used, the quantity of coins used and the final size and time taken to make each one. Their final value differs as the amount of work I have put in to each one changes with the quantity of coins used to make up the monetary value of £1. The one pence assemblage, took a lo longer than any of the others. Whilst it uses the lowest value coin, it' the highest in value when the time taken to make it is taken into account.

Origami Money

As my project has progressed I've branched out from using just coins and started using notes to make art works. I think the work speaks for itself.
